Excerpts

Readers like to take a scan through some text to get a feel for a book before buying it. After all, it is commitment of time and money to read a novel or nonfiction book. It's often a good idea to pick up a book, open to random pages and read a few paragraphs. With an e-book, you want to consider those with some means of “looking inside” first.
Here’s your opportunity to do this with Blue Green – plus there's also excerpted text in the Characters and Themes sections of the website. You may want to check out those sections. The four excerpts linked below give an example of different aspects of the story. These will be rotated out over time.
Note that these are told by Gaius Galen, the first-person narrator of Blue Green.
Hippodrome Imposters
Gaius relates what a Hippodrome race is like, having snuck in his girlfriend Messalina "– in violation of law, God’s command and my own common sense, which has been called meager."
Theater Eruption
Messalina is united with her sister for the first time in years backstage before her sister’s theater competition between Blue and Green actors before Blue and Green audience partisans.

Two Un-Hanged Men
Brother Zazo's quick thinking and action at the gallows is instrumental in pushing the Blue and Green fans’ street rioting toward rebellion.
Cat Cornered in a Kitchen
When Gaius succumbs to the mania that has been building in him from re-entering the rioting game, his men catch & restrain him.
